This extremely rare Porsche 356 B Carrera 2 Cabriolet is one of just 28 examples originally delivered with a factory hardtop – in addition to the standard Reutter folding roof. The hardtop features its original black lining and opening rear quarter windows.
Delivered in June 1962 in Slategrey (6201) to D’Ieteren in Brussels, the car later went to California, then into a prominent Japanese collection before returning to Europe in the 1990s. It was subsequently owned by a German collector of 4-cam Porsches and expertly maintained.
The car participated in events such as the Tour d’Auto and Coupe des Alpes. Despite having a FIA pass, there is no evidence of accident damage, either visible or documented.
Due to private reasons, this collector’s item is now offered on consignment. The extensive restoration included:
Full assessment and disassembly
Acid-dip stripping and bodywork
Repaint in original Slategrey (6201)
New interior
Engine rebuilt by Wolfgang Reile
Final assembly
The restoration was thoroughly documented and overseen by a certified appraiser. A detailed vehicle history is fully available.
